Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. You cannot participate in any of our programs until you turn in a signed waiver to our Director or Coaches. TeamsHow are JAB teams structured?
We will take no more than 9 players to a team (Summer may vary more because of vacation, family time etc...). Players will for the most part be divided into three groups based on their age and skill level as well as what would be best for the individual and the team. General groups: 1. Developmental 2. Experienced 3. Experienced and highly skilled Why do you charge a tryout fee? We staff our tryouts to provide for the best coach to player ratio. Our past experience has been that people will sign up but not show up. We charge a minimal fee to encourage you to remain committed to what you signed up for as well as help us to acknowledge the value of the coaching staff's time. Is my child ready for JAB? Yes. We teach the fundamentals at a level that pushes the team and individual out of their comfort zone all the way from 1st grade to the collegiate level. When are tryouts? Two - three weeks before the 1st game of the season. Do you have to be part of a JAB team to join skills? No. JAB offers a number of different skills groups. Email: jab@jabhoops.com for more info. What grade does a kid need to be to join a team? Teams are usually grade based. Exceptions may be made at the coach's discretion. What is the cost for joining a team? Prices vary but are based on a "per event" scale. Games, practices, 3v3 Academy etc. encompass "events." Are uniforms included in team fee? No. There is a "one time" uniform fee until team uniforms change or the athlete outgrows their current uniform at which point they'll need to pay for another uniform. How many kids per team? 8-9 (Summer varies). Is JAB for boys and girls? Yes. How long are the seasons? Season lengths vary. Usually around 10 weeks. Older tournament teams may go for as long as 5 months. If you are on a team in a current season, are you guaranteed a spot for the following season? No. If I've already paid my child's fees and we change our mind about participating, will I be refunded? All payments are non-refundable. However any funds not used can be applied to future JAB programs. |
